I just landed my first gig as a taxi driver for oxygen in Princess Buttercup. Not to brag or anything, but transporting oxygen around here is a pretty big deal. I am starting my first day at the end of Princess Buttercup’s tail. I started going down the middle caudal vein of the tail. I continued up it until it turned into the split of the postcava near the hips. I continued up the postcava until I reached the HQ (Heart). At HQ I went through the routine that I was taught during training. I entered the right atrium and then went into the right ventricle. I then traveled up the pulmonary artery and into the capillaries of the lungs. There I picked up my first passenger, Otto Oxygen. He asked to be taken to an osteocyte in a phalange of the forelimb. I went into the pulmonary vein to the left atrium and then to the left ventricle. From there I entered the aortic arch and into the left subclavian artery. This turned into the axillary artery and then the brachial artery. The brachial artery then split into the ulnar and radial arteries. I took the radial artery since the ulnar artery seemed like it was backed up for some reason. I traveled into superficial palmer arch and then went up the proper palmer digital arteries in order to reach the phalanges. I asked Otto which he wanted dropped at, but he said he could go to any so I dropped him off at the proximal index phalange. Time to pick up my next customer!

To get back to HQ I began traveling down the veins now. I went down the proper palmer digital veins into the superficial palmer arch and then to the ulnar vein. It seems like the blockage that had been here earlier had cleared up. I then when until the radial and ulnar veins connected and became the brachial vein. This then turned into the subclavian vein. This isn’t that hard of a job honestly since all the arteries and veins are basically named the exact same thing. I traveled down the subclavian until it turned it became the precava and returned to HQ. I went through HQ and the lings and picked up my next passenger, Numba Octo. She had a really weird name, but I’m not one to judge. She said that she wanted to go to a myoblast in the gluteus maximus. So, we began our journey to the posterior. Once I left the heart I traveled down the descending thoracic aorta. This turned into the abdominal aorta, which then split at the hips. I went through the common iliac artery and turned down the left internal iliac artery. I asked Mrs. Octo where in the buttocks she needed to be. She said she needed to get to the bottom of the bottom. So, I went down the inferior gluteal artery and dropped off Mrs. Octo at her destination.

I now only have one passenger left for today. I headed back up the inferior gluteal vein which turned into the internal iliac vein. I then rejoined the main vein and traveled up the common iliac vein. This turned into the postcava which I traveled up until I reached HQ. I again traveled through HQ and the lungs and pick up my final passenger, Plant Fart. He was a bit of a weird guy, but he seemed nice enough. He told me that he needed to get to a neuron in the frontal cerebral cortex ASAP! When I heard that I floored it, metaphorically, and raced to the aortic arch. From there I went up the brachiocephalic artery and then took a turn up the common carotid artery. From that point the arteries began branching out all over the place. I took the turn that led to the internal carotid artery. I turned onto the anterior cerebral artery and as soon as I stopped Mr. Fart jumped out of the car and ran, metaphorically, to the nearest neuron he could. He didn’t even say thank you to me! Oh well at least I did my job. That was a great first day! I can’t wait to see where I have to go tomorrow!
